How Will I Photograph Your Wedding?

FAQs, my process, what you can expect, and how I create images you'll enjoy forever.

Authentic, timeless, and fleeting moments.

My approach to your wedding day is to keep you immersed in the experience while I document the fleeting moments. As the joy of the day flows within and around you, I act as the catalyst, capturing those feelings so you can relive them again and again.

This means your photos will come out authentic, with movement and meaning behind each one! We’ll spend time photographing you with your family and friends and have fun capturing first looks and outfits, but the gallery will maintain a natural feel—as if someone were paying attention to every moment (which I will be!).

Sooooooo how does this process work?

Step 1: Contact me so I can introduce myself to you and schedule a time to chat!

I’m excited to meet and get to know you! I’d love to hear your story—how you met, where you’re from, how the wedding plans are coming along, and more. This is our chance to connect beyond just discussing photos—it’s a time to truly get to know one another.

Step 2: Zoom call

I’ll reach out and set up a time for our call. I like to set aside an hour, but we can keep it short or even go longer! You can ask me any question you like and I come with my own questions to make sure we cover all of our bases.

FAQs:

  1. How much of our wedding day can you cover?

    • All day! Typically, this means I’m available for 8 hours to capture all the important moments, but I’m flexible and often stay longer if needed. If the day runs behind schedule or there’s more to document, I’ll be there to ensure I don’t miss a thing. Let’s just say I cover 8–10 hours, depending on what your day calls for!

  2. Do you use a shot list?

    • Yes, I do! I have a standard shot list that I use for every wedding, covering all the important moments like the first look, reception, family photos, and more. However, I customize it specifically for your day! A few months before the wedding, I’ll send you the list with space to add any personal details or remove anything unnecessary. This way, when your big day arrives, we’re perfectly aligned on everything you want captured!

  3. How will we stay in touch with you?

    • Once you decide I’m the right fit, you’ll have my phone number! Feel free to reach out anytime with spur-of-the-moment questions. We’ll also schedule two planning calls (in addition to our initial contact call) to keep everything organized. The first will take place 4–6 months before your wedding, and the second around 2 months out. During these calls, we’ll go over any questions, discuss your aesthetic, introduce me to your vendor contacts, and more (this is step 3).

  4. How do you balance using film and digital cameras?

    • I cover everything with my digital camera, as well as my film cameras. While some photographers aim for a 70-30 or 60-40 split, my approach is closer to 100-70 (full digital coverage, almost all film). This might sound unusual, but it ensures that every moment is captured, backed up, and safe. While I love the timeless quality of film, this method addresses any concerns about film photos not developing perfectly (though I’ve never had this issue!). With this approach, you can feel confident that we’ll have everything beautifully documented.

  5. What are you looking for?

    • I look for EVERYTHING. I can’t help it—it’s just the way I’m wired to see life, and it really helps me on wedding day. I’m on the lookout for the groomsmen messing with each other, the bride smiling in a crowd, the sweeping beauty of the landscape, and those occasional silly moments. If it’s memorable, I’m capturing it!

  6. Do you travel?

    • The simple answer is yes! I’m based in California, but I’m open to traveling anywhere. For now, consider me a photographer that can go anywhere you need and we can figure out details later!

Step 3: Locking it in

Once we’ve had our chat and you feel confident moving forward, I’ll send over a contract. It will cover key details like dates, deliverables, deposits, and more. The contract is customizable because every couple and wedding is unique—this way, we can ensure it reflects the details that matter most to you.

Step 4: Planning!

Once the contract is signed and the deposit is submitted to lock in your date, we get to dive into the fun part—planning how I’ll capture your day! As I mentioned before, this happens over two Zoom calls, each about an hour long (or longer if we’re really hitting our stride!).

After our first call, I’ll send over a customizable shot list for you to review and add any personal details. You can take your time with it—it’s always editable. If you think of something in the 11th hour, no problem! I’ll see it and make sure it’s included. We’ll also review and finalize it during our second call.

Step 5: The big day!

I show up and photograph! By this point, all the details are sorted, so you can relax knowing I’m there capturing everything you want. With our shot list in hand and my eye for those in-between moments, I’ll make sure nothing is missed. You’re also welcome to ask me to photograph anything specific in the moment—I’m there to help in any way I can.

Step 6: Reliving the experience

Within a few days, I’ll send over some sneak peeks because I know you’ll be dying to see a few! Then, your full gallery will be ready within 4–8 weeks.

You and your family and friends can share the photos to your heart’s content. I’ll provide a link to the gallery that you can share with everyone so they can enjoy it on their own time. This link will allow both you and everyone to download the photos that they enjoy most. This makes it easy for families to have the ones that they’re in and for printing.

How does this all manifest visually?

I think the best way to show you is simply by sharing some photos! By now, you hopefully have a better sense of what it’s like to work with me, and of course, you’ll get to know more about me through a call. So go ahead and scroll through some weddings I’ve photographed in the past, and see the beautiful people who were a part of them.
